January 20, 2006 We are now busy doing up our year end books and ministry income, which came to $19,000 Canadian, Out of this we made 2 trips to Africa, we were able to help other ministries, as we always do, one bigger project happened this last trip, in which we had donations come in for a village type hospital ($4,500 Canadian funds) for Malawi. Our next project is to help get a 42 foot container to Tannekens and Pastor Rego in Beira for Mozambique - filled with dried food and clothing. That would keep them going for a while. The project will cost $4,000 Canadian to buy the container so it can stay with her, and another $1,000 US to have the container dropped off at the ministry head quarters. Also since August when we came back, we itinerated and had a free trip to Ontario in November (almost free trip we still had to pay for the taxes and other things but basically it was completely paid for through Air Miles and Petrocan Points). Then we also made two trips by car to Saskatchewan - itinerating and another one to Kelowna, B.C. All this since August, when we came back home from Malawi. We do not, at this time, have any income - so like all other missionaries we just trust the Lord. From one month to the other we do not even know if we can keep going or not. But God seems to be faithful, living by faith is not easy but somehow God makes it work. Yes we did have a wonderful time with Tanneken and the group over there, it was very very hot, and humid. I myself (Desi) probably lost up to 15 pounds, for the most time I felt like a Popsicle melting in the heat. Many areas did experience some flooding except where we went arid where we were. - Which were mostly the central 2 provinces. So God was merciful to us. Thank you for asking about our ministry, Desi and Martha Jakab For more information or a financial report e-mail us |
