Dear Ones:             Martha’s News Letter       August 20, 2005

This year so many things have taken place.  The end of January the Lord spoke to us re: a ministry name we were supposed to go under.  This came in the middle of the night (around 3 am).  The name the Lord gave to us was: ‘Feeding the Hungry’ - at a time when we were not expecting it, nor were we looking for it.
In obedience to the voice of the Lord: within two weeks the Lord put together for us a wonderful group of directors to work with.  By February 21 we had the name ‘Feeding the Hungry – Global Ministries’ approved by the government of British Columbia.  Then came the process of getting our fledgling ministry registered by the Federal Government.  That also was approved by May 19, 2005. This means that any donations to this ministry can now be sent to ‘Feeding the Hungry – Global’ and before the end of February 2006 you will receive an income tax receipt.
Desi and I left Canada to return to Malawi on May 16th.  In March Desi received a dream regarding the southern most regions of Malawi. God spoke to him about an orphanage and a certain area where there was revival. I Martha, met a couple the previous year from that area of the country, and when I checked my address book, I was surprised to find their names and telephone number.  When I showed Desi, he remarked they are the ones that the Lord had showed to him in the dream. Immediately we phoned the people and were able to make connection with them. Thus God gave us brand new direction and to some of the poorest people on the face of the earth.
We have now returned home for a season.  This particular trip has been more fruitful than all the previous years put together.  God was so faithful!  We were in the Lower Shire, just 200 meters above sea level, and most of the year being extremely hot.  Our time spent there was in the cool season, what would be fall and winter.  Most of the time the weather was 80 degrees on a cool day and 90+ on a hot day (25-35 C).  It is a very poor, hot dry region, with a very dense population.
Within the first few days of being there Desi had the opportunity of praying for a pastor who was on his deathbed and had been there for a month, despite the fact that many had prayed for him; he had not been responding to prayer.  The next day, we had heard that he was better. On the third day: when Desi went to see him - he had to look to find him, wonderfully healed and on the mend. Praise the Lord!
